Directions to Wilmington Riverfront Parking

From I-95, take exit 6 (4th St; M.L. King Jr Blvd; Maryland Ave). See Parking info below. Registration and start/finish at Hare Pavilion on boardwalk near Constitution Yards.

Parking, Start / Awards Area

Free Race Day Parking for Participants, Spectators and Volunteers:
There is street parking within walking distance of the race START.
Free parking in lot at 601 S Madison St. Walk down Beech St. to Riverfront boardwalk and turn left.

Fee Based Race Day Parking for Participants, Spectators and Volunteers:
We have secured the Amtrak Parking Garage (Enter on French St. Garage located between Rosa Parks drive and Front St). Runners will pay a discounted rate of $5.00 or less for all day parking by presenting your race bib at the point of exit.

Course Map

The 2024 Delaware Distance Classic 15K & 5K Road Races will be out and back along Riverfront Wilmington to the Jack A. Markell Trail through the Russell Peterson Wildlife Refuge and bike paths towards New Castle.

Both 15K and 5K start at Hare Overlook Pavilion at Riverfront Wilmington, run past DuPont Environmental Education Center and on to boardwalk over the marsh area. Then across bridge and on to pavement towards New Castle with long, straight stretches. Course Article and Photos

Course Video

The Jack A. Markell (JAM) Trail opened in June, 2018. Except for the first 25 seconds, this video is a tour of most of the 15K course, for the return trip to the finish.
